Adding Menu Item with Featured Articles (Type: Articles >> Featured Articles)

The following tutorial will show you how to create a new menu item with Featured Articles.
  • In the Joomla Admin panel go to the "Menus -> Menu Manager", from the "Menus" list choose your menu and click on the "New" button.
  • Press on the "Select" button next to the "Menu Item Type" field and choose the "Featured Articles" from the "Articles" list;
  • In the "Menu Title" field type the menu title;
  • Verify that the "Status" is "Published", "Access" is "Public" and "Parent Item" is "Menu Item Root";
  • In the "Layout Options" panel select categories;
  • In the "Leading Articles" put the number of articles to display in full-width at the beginning of the page.
    Leading articles always display in one column, "0" means that no articles will show when using the full width. If an Article has a "Read more..." break, only the part of the text before the break (the Intro text) will display;
  • In the "Intro Articles" put the number of articles to display after the Leading Article.
    Intro Articles may display in one, two, three or four columns, depending on the Columns setting. If an Article has a "Read more..." break, only the text before the break (Intro text) will display, followed by a "Read more..." link;
  • In the "Columns" put the number of columns for displaying "Intro Articles";
  • In the "Links" put the number of Links to display after "Intro Articles".
    These links allow a User to link to additional Articles, if there are more Articles than can fit on the first page of the Blog Layout;
  • Press the "Save & Close" button in the top right corner of the page.

Creating Single Article Menu Item (Type: Articles >> Single Article)

The following tutorial will show you how to create a new item in the main menu that points to the "Single Article", like "Positions", "Services", etc. Based on this information you will be able to add a new menu item to any of your defined menus pointing to any article you have previously created for your site.
  • Press the "New" button in the top right corner;
  • Press on the "Select" button next to the "Menu Item Type" field and choose the "Single Article" from the "Articles" list;
  • In the "Menu Title" field type the menu title;
  • In the "Menu Location" choose your menu;
  • Verify that the "Status" is "Published", "Access" is "Public" and "Parent Item" is "Menu Item Root";
  • In the "Required Setting" section click on the "Select / Change" button and choose your article;
  • Adjust settings in the "Article Options" section as shown on the image bellow or choose your own settings;
  • Press the "Save & Close" button in the top right corner of the page.

Creating Blog Menu Item (Type: Articles >> Category Blog)

The following tutorial will show you how to create a new item in the main menu that points to the "Category Blog", like "Blog" in our template.
  • Press the "New" button in the top right corner;
  • Press on the "Select" button next to the "Menu Item Type" field and choose the "Category Blog" from the "Articles" list;
  • In the "Menu Title" field type the menu title;
  • In the "Menu Location" choose your menu;
  • Verify that the "Status" is "Published" and "Access" is "Public";
  • In our template the "Blog Menu Item" we published under "Parent Item" called "Single Column", you will see it in the dropdown submenu;
  • In the "Required Setting" section choose a category;
  • Adjust settings in the "Article Options" section as shown on the image bellow or choose your own settings;
  • Press the "Save & Close" button in the top right corner of the page.

Creating Search Menu Item (Type: Search >> List Search Results)

The following tutorial will show you how to create a new item in the main menu that points to the "List Search Results", like "Search" in our template.
  • Press the "New" button in the top right corner;
  • Press on the "Select" button next to the "Menu Item Type" field and choose the "List Search Results" from the "Search" list;
  • In the "Menu Title" field type the menu title;
  • In the "Menu Location" choose your menu;
  • Verify that the "Status" is "Published" and "Access" is "Public"
  • For example, in our template the "List Search Item" we published under "Parent Item" called "Single Column";
  • In the "Required Setting" section, in the "Search Term" field type ´search´, or any other word, words or phrase to search for;
  • Press the "Save & Close" button in the top right corner of the page.

Creating Single Contact Menu Item (Type: Contacts >> Single Contact)

The following tutorial will show you how to create a new item in the main menu that points to the "Single Contact", like "Contact Us" in our template.
  • Press the "New" button in the top right corner;
  • Press on the "Select" button next to the "Menu Item Type" field and choose the "Single Contact" from the "Contacts" list;
  • In the "Menu Title" field type the menu title;
  • In the "Menu Location" choose your menu;
  • Verify that the "Status" is "Published", "Access" is "Public" and "Parent Item" is "Menu Item Root";
  • In the "Required Setting" section click on the "Change Contact" button and choose the "Contact Us" from the "Sample Data-Contact" Category;
  • Adjust settings in the "Contact Display Options" section as shown on the image bellow or choose your own settings;
  • Press the "Save & Close" button in the top right corner of the page.

Creating Text Separator Menu Item (Type: System Links >> Text Separator)
