I need to add java script to an article which is a contact form. I created the .js file and placed it in docRoot/templates/custom/js
What would be the best practice to add the javaScript to the template?

Your custom javascript file you have to add in the template's index.php file, as example please see lines 67-70 in the index.php file.

In addition I need to make some style changes. Do I need to modify the tmpl.default.css or can I use a more elegant override in another file (like style.custom.css) ? Is there a guide for overriding CSS?

I have 2 questions:
1 I am trying to optimize my site for SEO. One of the items I was made aware of is that the Index Page Title and the Content Page title are H2 instead of H1.
How can I change it to H1 with an override (as opposed to changing your PHP files)?
2. If I change the text-align property for .page_header class, it affects all pages including the featured articles.
How can I exclude the featured pages from the change?
