Well again I am stuck at the installation of the quickstart. It would be nice to have it for the 3.x version but the 2.5 would be OK too i guess if it worked. After selecting the language in step 1 it is loading forever, and never goes through, to get to step 2.
Slowly, after the third template, the question arises if somebody is even testing the quickstart packages or how is it possible that so far none of them worked.

Hello LANDSTREICHER,
If the installation of the quickstart via the usual method of using Joomla installer fails, there is an alternative method provided. This is by directly importing sample_data.sql file to your database (on localhost or online host) and then editing configuration.php-dist file found in the installation folder. When doing this, please make sure that the tables prefix you decide to use in the configuration.php file match those in the sample_data.sql file.
Regarding the error, it might be that xampp is set to report errors. This can be turned off via the php.ini file in xampp.
