I am trying to figure out how to remove one of the four newsflash articles just below the ASArtSlider on the home page.
I removed the "New Ideas" module, which eliminated the fourth "circle". But I would like to have the remaining three centered. Is there a way to do that?

You have to edit your module bootstrap size, the parameter you can find under the module Advanced parameters tab, you have to change it to 4.
