Yes you can. You could even install the quickstart provided and upgrade it to Joomla 3.3.1 at your admin back-end.

Quick Start installation does not work. this is a problem. it stays in step one forever. You can give me the database ou other solution?? thanks

the problem is solved,

in the file:

jmla/installation/application/framework.php

If we comment out error_reporting in that file finally installation can continue.
