As result some of parameters rewritten by the template, you have to make changes in the ext.asmenu.css file which can be fount in the template css folder.
Hi I find it confusing that when you click on 'read more' in the slider you are not referred on a new page but that the additional info is displayed on the frontpage - since it is rather far down on the frontpage I fear that many visitors to my site won't see it - I would like the 'read more'button in the slider to link to a new page - how can I do that?

The heading color is the same like the body color, in your case you have to edit css files, in the style default.css file please find the following class and add your color (should be on line 217):

You can do it by changing the Image Show Time parameter under the slider parameters -> slider settings in your Joomla module manager panel.
