I have activated the login module, self registration allowed. The registration form contains a couple of details I would like to deactivate. How can I adapt the form? Pls help! Many thanks in advance!

Have you checked Users Configuration parameters? if there are no such parameters it should be done in the module source code, sorry, in this case you have ask for our services.
