I get the same problem as GRIFFIOEN. Since Joomla 3.3.6 update, Artslider does not work anymore. I patched _item.php too but still not working.

There is another problem, it looks like you have deleted all articles intro images which used in the slider, for example:
images/sampledata/asimages/slider/slide3.jpg
Yeah, I do that because i want to replace images with my own. It's seems that is wrong way :) Excuse me for my bad English.
What can i do now? Should i reinstall template?

No, just take all images from the quick-start package, from the 'asimages' folder and upload them on your server.
I have the same problem as Rob. Since Joomla Update I see only the circle but no picture. Also I install the _item.php but the same.

The slider is OK, you do not have articles with intro images for your slider.
Our suggestion is to install it using quick-start installation package, after installing the package your site will look exact like our demo preview page and it will be easy for you to make changes in the content, preview all parameters and settings. The quick-start package is actually the template documentation. If by some reason you can't install it on your live server you can install on some demo server or demo folder and then preview all settings. The quick-start package should be installed like regular Joomla installation.
