The premium version comes with quick-start installation package, after installing the package your site will look exact like our demo preview page and it will be easy for you to make changes in the content, preview all parameters and settings. The quick-start package is actually the template documentation. If by some reason you can't install it on your live server you can install on some demo server or demo folder and then preview all settings.

I want to change te color of the grey surface on top of the template and I mean the area behind the main menu.

It can be changed by editing css files. You can easy determinate the file which should be changed and the css class by installing and using Firebug plugin: https://getfirebug.com/
Before I will buy this template, I would like to play with demo a little bit.
So I have installed demo version, but I do not see the content in the middle (SAVINGS, PLANNING, INVESTMENT). Is it usable just in PRO vesrsion?

It sometimes happens when a specific user has been deleted that was the author of an article or any other content. When trying to load that content, it also tries to get the username based on the ID, which cannot be found in the #__users table.
If you have an article being displayed on the homepage, try changing the author to someone else.
If this doesn't work:
Create 2 new users via the Joomla User Manager (admin backend).
Open your database manager such as PhpMyAdmin
Go to the #__users table and search for the ID of the user you just created
Change the ID for these users to 766 and 626
Go to the #__user_usergroup_map table
Search for the user_id that matches the ID of the user you created before
Change these also to 766 and 626
