Regarding the duplicated id your are right, it can be removed in the template's index.php file, lines 313-315. If you will not be able to find these lines and delete the id please provide us with an access to your Joomla admin panel and we will fix it for you.

Yes, you can remove google fonts if you do not need them.
We are sorry, but we can't help you with other problems, it is depends on the validator version, css, html and Joomla, it may not work as a responsive as well may not b compatible with all browsers.

In the free version you have to install and config all extensions by yourself, you can download them from the following page: http://www.astemplates.com/joomla-extensions
There is not module. It is look like bare minimal!!!!
Could at least get where the area are!!!

Our suggestion is to install it using quick-start installation package, after installing the package your site will look exact like our demo preview page and it will be easy for you to make changes in the content, preview all parameters and settings. The quick-start package is actually the template documentation. If by some reason you can't install it on your live server you can install on some demo server or demo folder and then preview all settings.

However, the as002035_premium.zip can be installed using Joomla
Now, I have to install the "quick start" manualy thru the manual installation of Joomla.

You cannot install quick-start package directly via joomla extension manager because the package already contains Joomla, the package should be installed like regular Joomla installation, please carefully read the template documentation: http://www.astemplates.com/joomla-template-documentation/115-002035
But just to confirm - to update the template I need to download latest version from my account - and only install the individual bits as per the news item or (which I would like to do) - upload the as002035_premium.zip to my extension upload, that's it?

Don't need to install it again, just copy the latest version on your server via FTP. We recommend you to rename the old version and then copy a new.
